Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township and Springwater are working together to create a plan to improve community safety and wellbeing in the Southern Georgian Bay and Springwater areas.

The group of municipalities is seeking public input on the plan, called a Community Safety and Wellbeing Plan.

So far, the focus for the plan includes three main areas:

  • mental health and addictions
  • attainable housing
  • access to services

There is a public survey currently open and available online here asking residents of the region to tell the group of municipalities what challenges and obstacles you've experienced or observed in the three focus areas.

If you are interested in participating in the working group for the plan, you can also submit your email via the online survey.

According to the Town of Collingwood's announcement, the plan will organize various sectors such as governments, school boards, health, and social services, to work together in the community to help residents thrive.

Throughout Simcoe County, there will be eight such plans.
