Nottawasaga & Creemore Public School will unveil the restored Creemore Bell in a ceremony on Friday, Feb. 1 at 9:30 a.m.

Community members are invited to attend the ceremony, which will include:

  • the official unveiling of the bell
  • musical performances by students
  • guest speakers discussing the symbolism and history of the bell

The bell was first installed in the tower of a four-room schoolhouse at the corner of Caroline and Collingwood streets in 1882. It will now rest in a permanent location at Nottawasaga & Creemore Public School as a reminder of the history of education in the area and its continued importance.

Nottawasaga & Creemore Public School is located at 240 Collingwood St., Creemore.

This initiative links directly to the SCDSB’s Strategic Priorities under the pillar of community.
