Springwater teen dies in snowmobile accident

Sunday afternoon, at approximately 2:56, Almaguin Highlands Detachment of the OPP with the assistance of the Kearney Fire Department and Parry Sound Ambulance Service, responded to a single snowmobile accident near Rain Lake Road on the OFSC Top D trail, in the Town of Kearney, east of Burk's Falls.

The OPP investigation determined that the operator, 14-year-old Mark Ramolla of Springwater Township, west of Orillia. left the trail, struck a tree and was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

Assisting in the investigation are an OPP Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigator.
