***************************
Snow squall watch in effect for:
    •    Barrie - Collingwood - Hillsdale
    •    Midland - Coldwater - Orr Lake
    •    Orillia - Lagoon City - Washago

Snow squalls possible today and tonight.

Snow squalls are expected to develop today, and may become very slow moving or stationary tonight. Given the slow movement of these snow squalls, very heavy snowfall accumulations in the 15 to 25 cm range will be possible by early Saturday morning.

The squalls should weaken and eventually dissipate on Saturday as southwest winds usher in slightly warmer temperatures.

Snow squalls cause weather conditions to vary considerably; changes from clear skies to heavy snow within just a few kilometres are common.

Snow squall watches are issued when conditions are favourable for the formation of bands of snow that could produce intense accumulating snow or near zero visibilities.
