The County of Simcoe received 13 international awards for its marketing and communications elements to support the “North of Ordinary” and 'Creating Greater Opportunity' Economic Development projects. The team received a total of nine awards from MarCom (four Gold, five Platinum) and four Gold awards from Hermes Creative Awards, in addition to two honourable mentions.
The two creative pieces that were submitted were the 'North of Ordinary' promotional video, which was launched during the County’s Amazon pitch event and is being used as a larger tool to promote the region and attract investment and jobs to the area, and the 'Creating Greater Opportunities' brochure, which is leveraged during meetings, conferences and business interactions to promote the region’s economic development opportunities.
“Congratulations to our teams in Economic Development and Corporate Communications who continue to create world-class programming and promotions to serve our businesses, residents and communities,” said Warden Gerry Marshall.
“In the past four years, we have taken great strides to attract, grow and support our economy and our entire team is motivated to keep the momentum going and support investment and job creation in Simcoe County.”
Hermes Creative Awards and MarCom Awards operate as separate award programs but are both administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communication Professionals (AMCP). The international organization consists of several thousand creative professionals. AMCP oversees awards and recognition programs, provides judges and rewards outstanding achievement and service to the profession.
