MIDHURST, ON – The County of Simcoe is now accepting application for its 2019 Arts, Culture and Heritage (Built, Natural and Environmental) Grant Program. Funding for the 2019 grant program was approved by County Council as part of the 2019 Budget.

In 2018, the grant supported more than 40 arts, culture and heritage projects and organizations. The 2019 commitment aligns with the County’s goals to grow, support and attract economic growth across various sectors.

“As we shape our strategic direction for the next four years, this Council has made it clear that investing in tourism and initiatives that support our economy is a key priority,” said Warden George Cornell. “We are pleased to give a boost to our arts and culture businesses and look forward to supporting creative projects that help enhance our communities.”

The vision of this grant program is to support and enhance the arts, culture and heritage sectors in Simcoe County through:

• Building organizational capability and sustainability in existing and new local cultural organizations

• Investing in community-based cultural activities that promote awareness, access, participation and appreciation of arts and heritage

• Encouraging collaborative opportunities and partnerships

Interested applicants are asked to submit their Expression of Interest (EOI) by Feb. 1, 2019 with the application deadline on March 15, 2019.
