Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB) staff and community partners are invited to the Spring Back to Nature outdoor education conference on May 6 at Springwater Provincial Park.

The event runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and consists of three outdoor sessions, each lasting approximately 60 minutes.

The event features several guest speakers from across the province. Topics include outdoor and environmental education, supporting learners from kindergarten to Grade 12, as well as staff mental health and well-being. There will be a special strand for secondary teachers doing specialist high skills major or outdoor environmental education programs to become certified in Leave No Trace programming.

The Nantyr Shores Secondary School Enviroventure team is also offering an interactive, hands-on program for children of registered participants, ages four to 10, to allow participants to learn at the same time.

SCDSB employees can register via Apply to Education. Community partners can register and learn more on the event website.
