Positive Post-its a personal pick-me-up on a 'blah' morning

Someone placed encouraging messages on sticky notes around Collingwood last weekend

Neon Post-its placed anonymously brightened the day of at least one Collingwood resident this weekend.

Ursula Raehse said she was in her usual morning “blah” mood on Friday when she noticed a yellow sticky note on the sidewalk.

Once she was closer, she read the note, which said: “you are enough!”

“It’s honestly exactly what I needed to read at that moment,” said Raehse.

She tried to stick it on something, but it wouldn’t stick anymore, so she tucked it away in her book.
Once she had her morning tea, she noticed several more neon affirmations posted around Collingwood.

“What a wonderful thing for someone or several someones to do,” said Raehse in an email to CollingwoodToday. “Needed that ‘hug’ from a stranger.”

A few other notes posted on a bus shelter read “you are loved,” and “you’re beautiful.”

If you’re the one responsible for the affixed affirmation, Raehse says thank you.

The sticky notes seem to be gone now, but there is a campaign in Collingwood encouraging individuals to write encouraging words on the sidewalk in chalk in celebration of Hospice Georgian Triangle Campbell House’s fifth anniversary this week.
