Local Ontario Provincial Police have closed part of Highway 26 because of the winter storm and rapid deterioration of driving conditions in Collingwood and surrounding area.
The highway is closed west from Sunnidale Corners to Stayner and from Stayner West to the Mosley St. Roundabout. County Road 91 has also been closed from Duntroon to Stayner.

Police advise caution when driving and are asking drivers around Stayner, Creemore, and Collingwood to avoid unnecessary travel because of deteriorating weather conditions.
Environment Canada currently has an extreme cold warning and a snow squall warning in place for Collingwood. Both alerts are in effect until early morning on Feb. 4.
