Public Health Ontario reported 417 new COVID cases today.
The latest updates noted 528 recoveries and three deaths that have occurred in the last month.
The Oct. 14 updates provided by the province's public health agency and the ministry of health also reported the following data:
- 4,022 active, lab-confirmed cases, down from 4,136 yesterday.
- 254 people are hospitalized with COVID-19.
- There are 129 COVID-positive patients in the ICU plus another 29 patients no longer testing positive for COVID-19.
- There are 81 COVID-positive patients on ventilators and another 20 patients on ventilators no longer testing positive for COVID.
- 10,775,345 Ontarians (about 72 per cent of the total population) have been fully vaccinated and another 597,378 (four per cent of Ontario population) have a single dose of COVID vaccine. 88 per cent of eligible Ontarians have at least one dose of vaccine.
- The new cases reported today include 228 unvaccinated people, 16 partially vaccinated people, and 146 fully vaccinated people.
- The seven-day average incidence rate by vaccination status is 7.7 cases per 100,000 unvaccinated people, 3.1 cases per 100,000 partially vaccinated people, and 1.4 cases per 100,000 fully vaccinated people.
- There are 79 unvaccinated, six partially vaccinated, and 13 fully vaccinated COVID-19 patients in intensive care units.
- There are 98 unvaccinated, 13 partially vaccinated, and 31 fully vaccinated COVID-19 patients hospitalized but not in the ICU.
- The province reported 35,421 tests were processed yesterday, resulting in a 1.5 per cent positivity rate.
- Of the new cases reported today, 69 are from Toronto, 43 are from Peel, 18 are from Simcoe-Muskoka, and 18 are from York Region.
- Today's new cases include 61 individuals under 12 years old, 27 youth between 12 and 19 years old, 133 people between 20 and 39 years old, 111 people between 40 and 59 years old, 66 people between 60 and 79 years old, and 18 people over 79 years old.
Public Health Ontario has confirmed 593,437 cases of COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic, and reported 579,608 recoveries and 9,807 deaths.
Since the start of the pandemic, 30,226 people have been hospitalized with COVID and 5,912 of them were in intensive care units.
The cumulative average incidence rate in the province is 4,027.7 cases per 100,000 people in Ontario.
Ontario's average weekly incidence rate last week was 24.8 cases per 100,000 people, which is down by 7.8 per cent compared to the week of Sept. 28.

Simcoe-Muskoka
Yesterday, the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit reported 13 new COVID cases.
There are 153 active cases in the region.
Ten people from Simcoe County are hospitalized with COVID-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, the local health unit has confirmed 13,709 cases of COVID-19 with 13,294 of those cases recovered and 262 cases ending in death.
The region's weekly incidence rate is 19 cases per 100,000 for the week beginning Oct. 4, which is up by 10.5 per cent compared to the week beginning Sept. 28.
