Collingwood is hosting one more family engagement workshop for the design of the future Sunset Point Park playground structures.

Dean Collver, Director of Parks, Recreation, and Culture announced there would be another workshop at the Sunset Point pavilion on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 10 a.m. to noon.

Recently, the town and consultant hosted a family engagement session at the pavilion, but attendance was light (fewer than a dozen people).

The playground at Sunset Point - known as the Enviro-Park - is approximately 25 years old and the town has decided to replace it. Since the spring, the town has been seeking public input through a public survey, public meetings, and targeted engagement sessions to build a list of priorities for the new park.

Envision Tatham was the firm hired to lead the consultation process for the new playground.

Soon the town will put out a request for proposal document seeking custom playground designers to put together a design for a park based on the results of public engagement sessions and written submissions.

No construction schedule has been set for the project.
