The Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts is bringing out the sketchbook to plan out new upgrades for its longest running festival.

The Collingwood Arts and Music Festival committee is hosting a brainstorming session and is inviting the community to join them and bring their own ideas for re-invigorating the 32-year-old festival.

This year, the festival moved into the Eddie Bush Memorial Arena, having outgrown previous outdoor spaces.

“Collingwood Arts and Music Festival needs help to lift this event up to reach a higher standard to entice more artists and to appeal to a wider variety of visitors,” states a news release by the festival organizers.

The festival date and venue for next year are already set, but the committee is looking for volunteers, particularly those with strengths in marketing, computer skills, and bookkeeping.

The brainstorm session will take place at the Collingwood Public Library in the Free Schools Room at 7 p.m. on October 30.

For more information, or if you’re interested in volunteering as part of the organizing committee, contact Yvonne Gibson by email ([email protected]) here, or call the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts at 705-445-3430.
