Today, Gateway Casinos and Entertainment said the groundbreaking for its Wasaga Beach facility will take place in the second quarter of 2020 with an opening planned for the third quarter of 2021.
Mayor Bifolchi learned of the timeline while receiving an update from company officials at a meeting this morning.
“I want to thank Gateway for its continued commitment to our community,” Mayor Bifolchi said. “We are excited to have Gateway become a part of Wasaga Beach. The new casino means new direct and indirect jobs, as well as new entertainment and dining offerings.”
The town looks forward to Gateway representatives presenting their plans to council and the community in 2020.
