A summer of jazz and blues starts early this year with the first concert of the season by South Georgian Bay Music Foundation.

The newly-formed foundation welcomes Pretzel Logic, a ten-piece jazz band dedicated to the music of Steely Dan, to the Collingwood Legion at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, March 7.

Collingwood Collegiate Institute’s (CCI) jazz band will open for Pretzel Logic to round out the evening of big-band jazz.

Tickets for the evening are $60 a person and buyers will receive a $25 tax receipt for a portion of the ticket cost. Some of the proceeds from the evening will go to support CCI’s music program. Tickets are available online or can be purchased at the Theatre Collingwood box office at 115 Hurontario Street, suite 104.

The South Georgian Bay Music Foundation mission is to advance music education in the area through musical performances and fundraisers presenting jazz, blues, First Nations, Gospel, bands and choral groups.
