BARRIE, ONTARIO – Thursday, October 25 th , Georgian Angel Network (GAN) and Xcelerate Summit are hosting special investment sessions featuring keynote speaker, Alan Gertner, CEO of HIKU Brands. This event is open to the public and is an opportunity to learn about investing in the cannabis industry and about angel investing through GAN.

“With the burgeoning cannabis industry in Canada, we have the opportunity to be the global leader in the space,” says Gertner. “To thrive in that leadership position, entrepreneurship and innovation are key, which is why i'm so excited to be presenting at the Xcelerate Summit in front of the GAN and summit attendees. This next wave of businesses and entrepreneurs will ensure that Canada maintains and builds upon our leadership position.”

Following Gertner’s keynote, two businesses, Cryropharm Inc. and Eatibl.com will pitch their businesses to GAN members in the hopes of securing angel investment.

Cryropharm Inc., has a sublingual absorption technology applied to an array of cannabis edible products and Eatibl.com offers restaurants a yield management tool, offering consumers discounts based on the restaurant’s excess capacity and time-of-day.

“Attending GAN monthly investor sessions gives me the opportunity to be a part of a community of interesting people and to see innovative technologies applied to great business opportunities,” says Paul Larche, President of Larche Digital, and Chair of the Georgian Angel Network’s Board of Directors.
