MIDLAND - During the week of June 4-8, 2018 area law enforcement agencies participated in an organized effort to round up a number charged persons who have been negligent in attending the Ontario Court of Justice and following their ordered conditions.

Participants in this law enforcement partnership included members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Community Street Crime Units attached to Southern Georgian Bay, Bracebridge and Huntsville Detachments, OPP Central Region Canine Unit, OPP Central Region Emergency Response Unit (ERT), Christian Island Detachment of the Anishinabek Police Service (APS) and Probation and Parole Services Midland office.

Officers located and executed outstanding warrants on 32 persons wanted by area law enforcement during this annual organized enforcement activity locally known as Operation Clean Sweep.

Participating officers wish to thank those in the public who assisted in this event as these ongoing enforcement initiatives enhance public safety in our communities. No piece of information is too small and alternative avenues such as Crime Stoppers are provided to help reduce crime and create safer neighbourhoods.
