On Saturday, June 22, 2019, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society was pleased to host the 17th Annual Furball Gala: Denim & Diamonds. With over 220 passionate community members in attendance, the Craigleith Ski Club provided a stunning venue for an evening filled with top-notch cuisine, good times, and a shared love of animals.

Highlights of the evening included a beautiful selection of live/silent auction items – and new to the Gala this year – an online silent auction facilitating bidding and payments, so guests could spend more time socializing and enjoying the festivities.

The Wall of Wine raffle was a hit as was the delicious food by B&B Caterers. The very talented Arden And The Tourists provided entertainment and had the crowd up and dancing as soon as they strummed their first chord!

Because of our generous supporters, we were able to raise a whopping $109,000! In 2018, we helped over 1,300 animals – all proceeds raised from the evening will support animals that turn to the Georgian Triangle Humane Society Animal Centre in need.

These funds have impact from keeping families and their pets together by way of our Pet Retention program to providing emergency medical care to animals in the new Georgian Triangle Humane Society Animal Hospital.

“We continue to be blown away by the immense community support our organization receives – we are beyond grateful that the people of the Georgian Triangle and beyond have opened up their hearts to the vulnerable animals in our care,” says Anna Agresta, Fundraising Coordinator.

A huge thank you to all of the individuals and businesses who helped make this event a reality! Thanks to our event volunteers, the Furball Committee who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to pull everything together, and to our Furball Committee Chair, Barbara Foster, for her creativity, flair and dedication to the cause.
