'Freedom rally' group marched in Collingwood Saturday

The group of around 75 people protested COVID-related restrictions, calling for a 'stop' of 'medical tyranny'

A group of protesters gathered at a Collingwood intersection this afternoon and marched through the downtown in what they referred to as a 'freedom rally.'

The group gathered at noon on May 1 at the corner of First and Hurontario Street and later marched up Hurontario to Fourth Street before turning back toward First Street again.

There were about 75 people involved, with drums, flags, signs, and chanting phrases like "stop medical tyranny," "spread love not fear," and "we want freedom."

A few of the participants were wearing face coverings.

Other chants called for "protection of children from vaccines," and "this is a lie, when are people going to wake up?"
