FIERTE SIMCOE PRIDE

Fierté Simcoe Pride announces the seventh annual county-wide Pride, taking place from July 30 to Aug. 12, 2018.
FSP formed in 2012 with the vision of a safe and inclusive Simcoe County that supports and unites gender and sexually diverse communities. This year’s Pride has municipal support from 22 communities, including 21 proclamations and 20 flag raisings. The 2018 theme 'United in Action' builds on themes of previous years, mobilizing us all to take actions to make our county a better place to live, work and grow.
Fierté Simcoe Pride 2018 s a fourteen-day-long festival of events throughout Simcoe County including:
- July 30 – Opening at the County; flag raisings in Springwater, Oro-Medonte, Barrie; Pride Panel in Barrie
- July 31 – Flag Raisings in Tay, Tiny, Midland, and Penetanguishene
- Aug. 1 – Flag Raisings in Ramara, Rama, Wasaga Beach, Collingwood, Clearview; Poluck Social in Collingwood
- Aug. 2 – Flag Raisings in Essa, CFB Borden, New Tecumseth, Bradford West Gwillimbury, Innisfil
- Aug. 4 – Niizh Manidook (Two Spirit) Pow Wow at Springwater Park; Two-Spirit Outdoor Music Show in Tiny
- Aug. 5 – Dusk-till-Dawn Movie Night at the Drive-In in Oro-Medonte
- Aug. 7 – Flag Raising in Orillia
- Aug. 9 – Third annual Trans Pride March in Simcoe County, held in Orillia
- Aug. 11 – Fourth annual Simcoe County Pride Awards Gala at the Oakwood Community Centre in Victoria Harbour
- Aug. 12 – Affirming church service at Grace United Church in Barrie
