The Collingwood Fire Department and hydro crews are on scene at Beachwood Road between York Street and Selkirk Road after a dump truck collided with power lines.

Deputy Fire Chief Dan Thurman said a dump truck was delivering material to the property and on the way out of the driveway it hit a power line, which caused a short in the line. At least two lines were impacted by the incident. The short in the line caused smoke and the smell of burning.

The fire department was called in to check on the house and make sure there were no hot spots caused by the hydro short.

Collus/PowerStream crews are still on site replacing power lines. One fire truck and a small firefighter crew are also still at the scene to make sure the house is safe from the short until the work to replace the lines is finished.
