Preparations have begun for the Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market. Vendors are busy planting, growing, baking and crafting to offer only the best for our 15th anniversary season. As the growing season becomes more fruitful, so does the variety of the goods available at the market.

The Collingwood Downtown Farmers’ Market is a member of Farmers’ Markets Ontario and prides itself in adhering to the guidelines of the 100 mile market, featuring only produce grown within 100 miles of the market location, to promote buying local and eating healthy.

With the Market being owned and operated by the Collingwood Downtown BIA, it is also able to permit businesses within the Downtown boundaries to participate in the market.

It’s a wonderful opportunity for retailers, food service and other businesses that are located downtown to promote their trade and allow visitors at the market to get a sample of the wonderful things our downtown has to offers.

At the market … ‘Farm to Fork’… presents weekly cooking demos. Watch a chef cook with ingredients purchased at the market and you can learn how to shop and eat locally using fresh foods. Sample a new dish every week and take home the recipe to try it out yourself.

Returning this year…‘Magic at the Market’…. a weekly children’s creative art centre presented by Magic of Children in the Arts. It is an interactive way to make the market a family event.

While celebrating the start to the market on Saturday 8:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. on May 19 we will also commemorate the Royal Wedding. Dress your best, indulge yourself in sweets and tea from some of our vendors and get the best of both occasions in Downtown Collingwood.
