The shovels are ready to get started on a new Holiday Inn Express and two office buildings at 500 Hume Street (former Goodall site).

Dunn Capital Corporation announced at the Development and Operations Services Standing Committee on April 23 that crews were ready to go pending council approval of the site plan.

The proposal includes a 93 guest room Holiday Inn Express and Suites (5610 square metres), a three-storey office building (2100 square metres) and a two-storey office building (950 square metres).

Kenneth Hale, VP of planning and development for Dunn Capital Corporation, said his company anticipates “starting immediately.”

“We are well on our way to a building permit application, we would like to start this building right away,” he said. “We’ve been advertising this Holiday Inn Express and Suites was going to be coming.”

The standing committee did approve the site plan, and it will now be before council on April 30 for final approval.
