LAKESIDE YARN CRAWL
***********************
Attention yarn crafters – knitters, crocheters, weavers, and spinners. If you love a good summer road trip and love supporting local businesses, then the 5th annual Lakeside Yarn Crawl is for you.

The Lakeside Yarn Crawl is a self-guided tour from Midland to Owen Sound, from Hanover to Barrie, and everywhere in between. It offers crafty travellers a fun way to explore some of Simcoe County and Grey Bruce County’s best yarn stores.

This year’s Lakeside Yarn Crawl is the largest to date, with 15 local yarn stores participating.

The Yarn Crawl runs the entire summer from June 1 to Sept. 3, leaving plenty of time to visit each store. Crawlers are invited to pick up their Lakeside Yarn Crawl passport from a participating store or download and print a copy from the Yarn Crawl’s official Facebook page.

Present the passport at each location to receive a stamp. Crawlers can also receive a bonus stamp for attending the 2nd annual Fibre Spirit Festival in Barrie on Saturday August 24.

Stamped passports can be dropped off at any participating yarn store by Sept. 3 for a chance to win fantastic grand prizes. The Lakeside Yarn Crawl has teamed up with several talented local indie dyers who have each created custom yarn colourways for the Yarn Crawl this year. Exclusive hand-dyed yarn from Dragon Strings, Hipknitized, Akara Yarns, GnR Alpaca Farm & Yarn Boutique, and Fergus Yarn Co. will be available at select participating stores this summer.

An exclusive Lakeside Yarn Crawl organic cotton project bag from local maker Pine & Purl will also be available at select stores.

In addition to exclusive yarns and project bags, each store will have their own giveaways, promotions, and offerings throughout the summer. Plan your day trips and explore the backroads of Ontario this summer. Enjoy the views and discover new local yarn stores along the way.

Participating stores include: Alliston Yarns (Alliston), Creemore House of Stitches (Creemore), Eliza’s Buttons & Yarn (Barrie), GnR Alpaca Farm & Yarn Boutique (Lisle), Lahay’s Hobby & Crafts (Orillia), Llama Laine (Hanover), Purl3 (Orillia), Purrsonally Yours Fabric & Wool Shop (Meaford), Riverside Yarns (Owen Sound), The Knitting Basket (Rosemont), The Purple Sock (Coldwater), The Wool & Silk Co.
