TOWNSHIP OF SPRINGWATER

Township of Springwater / November 15, 2018 – The Canadian Pacific (CP) Holiday Train will be rolling into the Township of Springwater at 12:15 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 30, 2018 at Highway 26 and Anne Street North.

The CP Holiday Train brings a box car stage, a line-up of great musical talent and a corporate donation to local food banks. Each event is free, with CP encouraging attendees to open their cupboards and wallets to help address hunger needs in their communities. The Elmvale & District Food Bank and Barrie Food Bank will be accepting donations in Springwater to ensure those less fortunate have enough healthy food this holiday season.

Anne Street North will be closed to accommodate expected foot traffic and allow for safe viewing. Parking will be available at the Simcoe County Museum and Tree Nursery Sports Park, with accessible parking at Anne Street North. Transportation from the parking lots to the event will be provided.

Since the CP Holiday Train program launched in 1999, it has raised more than $14.5 million and gathered 4.3 million pounds of food for communities along CP's routes in Canada and the United States.

Performing this year are Terri Clark, Kelly Prescott and Sierra Noble. Terri Clark is a three-time JUNO Award winner and holds the honour of being the only Canadian female member of the legendary Grand Ole Opry. Terri has received 19 CCMA Awards and is the newest member of the Canadian Country Music Hall of Fame.
