Community 'love bombs' Sunset Point playground with all the colours of the rainbow

Residents and visitors arrived at the EnviroPark this morning to cover nearly every inch of it in rainbows, hearts, and messages of affirmation

One day after Sunset Point playground was vandalized with racist, homophobic graffiti, members of the community have covered nearly every surface of the play structures in messages of love and a rainbow of colours.

Called the "Love Bomb," the grassroots movement spread on social media as an unofficial event drawing crowds to the park on the morning of July 10.

Local paint and hardware stores donated paint and other local businesses helped with the cost of supplies meaning those who arrived could pick up a spray can or a dish of paint and add to the rainbow.

Yesterday, after the graffiti was discovered, it was removed and covered up by the town. The paint added today included hearts, rainbows, abstracts, words of love, and more. Local artists were joined by kids as they splashed colour across the play structures.

Enjoy these photos from today's activities.
