During the Nov. 9 meeting of Clearview Council, a financial assistance plan providing $10,000 in assistance to the Clearview Stayner Foodbank obtained unanimous approval.

The $10,000 in financial assistance has been funded from the remainder of the 2020 Clearview COVID-19 Community Assistance Fund, created to provide temporary or emergency financial assistance to community organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the 2020 Clearview Community Assistance Grant.

The Clearview Stayner Foodbank is vital to many in our community, especially during the continued global pandemic our community faces in 2020. There is currently a need for peanut butter, cereal, instant macaroni and cheese, Foodland gift cards, used to purchase perishable items as needed, and toilet paper. Donations can be dropped off at the Stayner Home Hardware, Stayner Foodland and at many local churches.
