Canadian adventure, Indigenous cultures feature in Beech Street Books fall line-up

Beech Street Books (a division of Saunders Book Company) has published 38 new English books and 13 French translations for its fall 2019 lineup.

The collection includes four new series': Black History in Canada, Disasters in Canada: Prepare and Be Safe, Explorers of Canada, and Understanding Canadian Government and Citizenship, as well as a new translated French series, Les grandes escapades routiè€res canadiennes.

Also a part of this years’ release is a continuation of the popular series Indigenous Communities in Canada and best selling series Indigenous Life in Canada: Past, Present, Future.

Beech Street Books publishes series to support school curriculums across the country with relevant topics, including history, geography, science, as well as social and political science.

Titles from Beech Street Books are written by a diverse group of authors and content consultants from Canada, including Indigenous peoples, academic experts and specialist non-fiction writers adding an authentic voice to each book.

With each collection Beech Street Books pays homage to hometown Collingwood. This year’s line-up includes local photos in the Christmas and Municipal Government books, an example from Collingwood of overcoming indigenous cultural appropriation in Cultural Appropriation and information on how Collingwood was a destination for freedom seekers in The Underground Railroad.

Beech Street Books is a division of Saunders Book Company in Collingwood, Ont. Saunders Book Company expanded into original publishing in 2016 following 54 years of successfully distributing titles from the United States and Great Britain to Canadian schools and libraries.
