After rising from an in-camera session on the Collingwood Regional Airport sale on Monday night, Mayor Brian Saunderson announced that the issue has, again, been deferred.

“The initial negotiation with Winterland Development Ltd. expired Jan. 23 when the due diligence period was not waived. Since that time, through legal council, we have received a revival proposal from Winterland,” said Mayor Brian Saunderson.

“Council has deferred consideration of that proposal for a Special Meeting to be held this Wednesday,” he said.

In December, the town announced the airport sale would close by the end of January 2019.

Previous announcements set the closing date on Nov. 26, October 2018, and Sept. 25.

The town announced the sale of the Collingwood Regional Airport to Winterland Developments Ltd. on Aug. 2.

The meeting on the airport is planned to take place on Wednesday at 1 p.m., and will be in-camera.
