Living Water Resorts carried on with a paired down version of a charity golf tournament this year in support of Breaking Down Barriers.

Recently, a resort official presented the proceeds of the tournament – $2,778 – to the local charity.

Living Water Resorts executive vice president, Warren Smith, made the presentation to Teresa Gal, executive director of Breaking Down Barriers.

“We are very appreciative of this donation and Living Water Resorts’ continued commitment to community,” said Gal in a news release. “Having been faced with unique challenges due to COVID-19, resulting in transitioning in-person programs, supports and services to virtual ones, a donation like this helps us continue to provide such services for individuals with diverse disabilities who rely heavily on them."

The two-day charity tournament hosted by Living Waters at Cranberry Golf Course took place on Sept. 26 and 27.

“Throughout this pandemic and in the face of challenges resulting from COVID-19, our community once again came together in support of a local charity,” said Smith in a press release issued by the resort and the charity. "By organizing a smaller tournament that adhered to proper COVID protocols allowed golfers to safely participate and support Breaking Down Barriers. We are thrilled to be able to present Breaking Down Barriers with this donation so they can continue their important work for individuals with disabilities in our community.”

According to the news release, Breaking Down Barriers and Living Waters are working on a partnership to make the charity golf tournament an annual event.
