Blue Mountain Resort will be closed starting tomorrow due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Alterra Mountain Company, which owns Blue Mountain and 14 other North American ski resorts, announced today it would be suspending operations at all its ski resorts until further notice.

All lift operations, food and beverage, retail and rental services will be closed until further notice.

Blue Mountain resort posted the following message on their social media this evening:

***************************

After careful thought and deliberation of our duty in the face of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) outbreak, and in what we believe is in the best interest of our guests, employees and local communities, Blue Mountain will suspend operations starting the morning of Sunday, March 15, until further notice. All lift operations, food and beverage, retail and rental services will be closed.

We will work directly with our guests in cancelling their visit and will provide refunds to those who have hotel and other bookings during this closure period. We anticipate heavy call volume over the next several days and appreciate guests’ patience as we work hard to respond to all inquiries.

We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience this short notice will undoubtedly create. We look forward to welcoming you back to the mountains as circumstances improve.
