The nation's blood bank is asking local donors to roll up their sleeves and donate blood at the next Collingwood clinic.

"Every donation counts," notes Elaine StPierre, the territory manager at Canadian Blood Services for Collingwood and area.

Canadian Blood Services is an essential service, and will continue to collect blood through the province-wide shutdown.

Blood donation clinics have been operating through the pandemic with a reduced number of donors, physical distancing accommodations, and additional sanitation. Additionally, all those who donate must make an appointment in advance, and the clinics are not allowing walk-in donations. COVID-specific questions have been added to the screening process for donors.

StPierre said there are still appointment times available at the Feb. 12 clinic at Living Stone Resort in Collingwood from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

You can book an appointment at blood.ca or call 1-888-2DONATE.
