NEWS RELEASE
TOWN OF COLLINGWOOD

After a long winter, are you looking for new ways to get outside and get active? Join the Town of Collingwood on Saturday, June 2 at Central Park from 9 a.m. till 12:30 p.m. for Move Collingwood Day.

Biking to the event with the whole family is a great way to start your day! Kids can visit the cycle safety stations, check over their helmets and equipment with a safe cycling team and learn new skills with cycle ramps and obstacles and get a Safe Cycling certificate.

The Georgian Triangle Running Club 1K run/walk gets underway at 10 a.m. and is perfect for all ages and abilities.

Watch demonstrations and try out sports you’ve never heard of (pickle ball anyone?) or take some time to rediscover an activity from your youth (grab your croquet club!). With more than 20 different stations, there’s sure to be something to get you moving!

You can even win a free swim pass, just by trying out different activities! Pick up a Passport to Play, and get a stamp after trying out different activities. Once you’ve found five stamps, which will be spread out among the activities, pick up your swim pass from the Move Collingwood event hub.

Use your ‘Passport to Play’ throughout the month of June as part of Parks and Recreation Month. Search for Be Well icons hidden throughout the community. Collect all five icons and enter into our Parks and Recreation Month draw. Completed passports can be dropped off at the Centennial Aquatic Centre before July 1st and winners will be announced at the Collingwood Festival for Canada.

Move Collingwood is all about encouraging outdoor recreation and play with your friends, family, and your community. Try a new sport, and be inspired by the incredible programs and recreational opportunities available right here in Collingwood.
