BE THE CHANGE FILM SERIES

“In 2040, what would the world look like for our daughter if we just embraced the best that already exists?”

That’s the question that award-winning director Damon Gameau asked as he set out on a global journey to meet innovators and changemakers.

Gameau was in search of the best solutions, available to us now, that would help improve the health of our planet and the societies that operate within it. See our world change, live on the screen, as he explains what could easily become our new reality.

Join Blue Mountain Watershed Trust members and friends for the latest Be The Change film series screening at The Collingwood Brewery on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 7 p.m. Watch the world transform on-screen as we celebrate our last outdoor film of the season, 2040. In October, the film series moves indoors!

The Be the Change Film Series (BTC), presented by RE/MAX Four Seasons Realty, has really struck a chord with the Collingwood community.

With high attendance and a socially-distanced festival atmosphere, it’s the place to be every second Tuesday evening.

“Put your lawn chair on the grass, grab a fresh beer and watch a film with those huge silos as a backdrop,” suggests Kathleen Knoll, a series organizer. “It’s a magical experience. These films are all about the natural world, and here we are.”

The Blue Mountain Watershed Trust, the area’s leading environmental charity, runs the film series as a friend- and fund-raising effort. Now in its 13th year, BTC has been showing films biweekly every second Tuesday.

Starting in October, films will be shown once per month at the Simcoe Street Theatre.

An incredible line-up of family-friendly films

This year’s film line-up is stellar, with something for everyone. BTC is a family-friendly event, at $12 for adults, $7 for students and children are free.

About Be the Change Film Series

Proceeds from BTC benefit local environmental education programs organized by The Blue Mountain Watershed Trust, a Collingwood-based environment-focused charity entering its 26th year.

The BTC Film Series was created in 2008 to educate and inspire the local Collingwood/Blue Mountains community into action. The Blue Mountain Watershed Trust Foundation is working together along with other community partners to provide the audience with a deeper and more comprehensive understanding of some of the most important ecological and social justice issues facing our local area and the communities of planet Earth.
