The Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario announced today there’s an application for a new cannabis retail store in Collingwood now entering a 15-day public notice phase.

The application was submitted by Justine Cannabis for a store at 280 First Street.

The deadline to file an objection or a submission related to the application is June 24.

If an objection is filed, the applicant receives a copy of the objection and can work with the AGCO toward a resolution.

The AGCO may then review the applicant’s original submission at a hearing or may call a public meeting where the person filing an objection may participate.

Spiritleaf has an application into the AGCO for a store at 10 Balsam Street, Unit 3. Best Buds Forever has an application before the AGCO for a store at 191 Hurontario Street, suite 1.

Both the latter applications are listed as in progress, but are not currently in the 15-day public notice phase.

There is currently one licensed cannabis retail store in Collingwood called Sessions and it is located at 312 Hurontario St.
