The Sail into Summer event takes place at Admiral Collingwood Elementary School on June 8.

The parent council for Admiral Collingwood Elementary School is inviting Collingwood residents to join them for an annual festival welcoming the summer holidays and supporting the students through technology purchases.

On Thursday, June 8, the annual Sail Into Summer Festival is returning after a hiatus since 2019, with family-friendly activities kicking off at 4:30 p.m.

Parent council organizers confirm the festival will have inflatable games, face painting, snow cones, ice cream, multiple food trucks, a DJ and community organizations adding their own fun options for activities.

The main event will be a battle between the school principal and vice-principal who will race each other through a 28-foot obstacle course and then go head-to-head in gladiator jousting.

There will also be a silent auction in the school gym with items donated by the Collingwood community under the themes of summer camp, wellness, sports and recreation, home decor, dining out and more. This year there will also be a Toronto Maple Leafs VIP ticket package including platinum club seating and a dining credit open for bidding.

Those attending will need an all-access wristband for $15 per person, available for purchase by cash only at the event. Children who haven't started kindergarten yet can take part in the event for free. Concessions and food trucks are cash purchase only.

All the money raised at the festival will help purchase technology for Admiral students.
