AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines continue to arrive in South Georgian Bay, which has been selected to participate in the Ontario pilot project to administer the Astra Zeneca vaccine.
South Georgian Bay has a population of over 10,000 patients between the age of 55-69, eligible to receive the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Due to this high demand, the 500 appointment slots for the clinic being held on April 10 were booked in less than an hour.
We apologize if you were not able to book an appointment today and thank you for your ongoing patience.
Due to the high demand and limited supply of vaccine, we ask that if you booked an appointment and are unable to attend, please cancel your appointment through the confirmation sent to you by email. This will free up the appointment slot for someone else.
As we receive further supplies of AstraZeneca vaccine from the Government of Ontario, you will be promptly notified on the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team website. We are keen and ready to be able to provide you with vaccine as soon as it becomes available. All information will be updated here.
If you have any concerns about the safety of this vaccine, please note that all approved vaccines in Canada are very good at protecting against severe COVID-19 disease (hospitalization and death).

If you are attending a vaccine appointment at one of our South Georgian Bay drive-through locations in Collingwood or Wasaga Beach, please arrive at the time of your scheduled appointment. If you are more than 10 minutes early, you may be asked to leave and to return later, to ease traffic congestion.
