With so many people attempting to register for their COVID jabs, I’d like to give my position on the long-awaited registration system. It works!
My wife and I are in our 80s and were anxious to get a booking for our COVID shots.
The first day for province-wide booking that I thought would be a nightmare proved to be not so.
I tried the telephone portal, but the wait times announced were too long. At our age, we really don’t like to hold open a phone line for an extended period of time.
I thought why not try the “online” portal and to my surprise up popped the appropriate screen and it showed I was XX number behind others. I stayed on this site and the time kept dropping over 10 minutes until it was my turn to enter data.
I found the screens and instructions very easy to follow and in no time had first and second shots and dates for myself and my wife. I printed the forms showing the location, times and dates we had selected. Great!
Then I received a message that there may have been a problem with the second of my dates, and I was to call a number to have it corrected. I didn’t do that until this morning and got a very quick connection with a remarkable woman who understood my situation. She was extremely helpful and rebooked both of my appointments for the same original dates, but with different times. Again, no problem.
I’m certain there are many people with complaints about the booking system, but I am impressed with the system and in particular
the assistance I received this morning.
