Dear Editor,

My comment is to the Collingwood resident Mark Wessel who wrote your last published letter to the editor.

He states backup alarms are annoying on heavy machinery including scissor lifts. He states to use motion backup sensors. The backup alarms are not for the driver they are for worker awareness and the worker's safety, so they know a heavy machine is moving around them. Just wanted to clarify that it would be not in the worker's safety interest to turn off backup alarms.
