Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation

About Us

Hospice Georgian Triangle provides compassionate care in the home and at Campbell House for individuals and families dealing with life-limiting illness living. Care programs come at no cost and focus on the physical, emotional and spiritual needs of both the patient and family, enhancing quality of life.

What is Hospice Palliative Care?

Hospice palliative care is a specialized form of healthcare for individuals and families who are living with a life-limiting illness that is usually at an advanced stage. The goal of hospice palliative care is to provide comfort and dignity for the person living with the illness, as well as the best quality of life for both this person and their family. Hospice Georgian Triangle is accredited by the Hospice Palliative Care Association Ontario.

In the Beginning

Since 1987, Hospice has provided care to families dealing with life-limiting illness in the communities of Collingwood, Wasaga Beach, Clearview Township and the
Town of Blue Mountains. The Hospice began as an all-volunteer, community-based visiting program providing non-medical support to those living with a life-limiting illness, or at the end-of-life, and to their families.

10 Fully-Furnished Family Suites

Today, Hospice provides a variety of programs in clients’ homes and at Campbell House, which has 10 fully-furnished family suites. Campbell House is located at 240 Erie Street in Collingwood. Hospice Georgian Triangle lends support to more than 500 local families each year. It still relies on hundreds of volunteers for raising funds and providing care.

Community Support Programs

In 2021, Hospice Georgian Triangle opened a downtown location at 186 Hurontario Street in Collingwood, allowing an expansion of community programming, such as grief and bereavement support, in a safe and secure environment.

Funding and Partnerships

Hospice Georgian Triangle is partially-government funded. Through the work of its sister organization, Hospice Georgian Triangle Foundation, it raises financial donations from the community. There are many ways for the community to donate and support the work of Hospice Georgian Triangle through the Foundation.

Hospice Georgian Triangle works closely in partnership with the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital, Ontario government home and community support services, and medical practitioners in the community. Hospice Georgian Triangle is a member of the South Georgian Bay Ontario Health Team recently approved by the Ontario Government to organize and deliver healthcare in our community.
