Walmart's corporate affairs office has confirmed two employees at the Collingwood store tested positive for COVID-19 recently.

According to Felicia Fefer, the manager of corporate affairs for Walmart, the employees last worked on Jan. 5 and 7 respectively.

"Out of an abundance of caution, associates identified as being in close, prolonged contact have been directed to self-isolate," stated Fefer in an email. "We are in contact with local public health."

She also noted her thoughts were with the two Collingwood employees and she wished them a speedy recovery.

"Safety continues to be a top priority at Walmart," stated Fefer, referring to public health infection control measures in place such as mandatory masks, a limited number of customers in the store, floor markings, cleaning throughout the store, temperature and wellness checks for all associates at the start of their shift, and dividers at customer service areas.
