Collingwood is hoping residents will sit inside the lines for their next visit to a local park.

Crews were at Millennium Park today painting social distancing circles on the grass - similar to the ones made famous by Toronto's Trinity Bellwoods Park.

The town's communications officer Adam Ferguson, said Collingwood's Parks, Recreation, and Culture department will also be marking circles in the grass at Sunset Point Park.

A portion of Sunset Point has been reopened on the west and east sides, but the central section remains closed.

The town is asking all park visitors to stay off the freshly seeded areas and abide by signs and barricades in place.

Under the provincial emergency orders, gatherings of more than five people are prohibited. That order is enforcible by OPP.

Health officials from Public Health Ontario and Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit are strongly urging people to maintain a distance of two metres between themselves and anyone not part of their household.
