Schools in Barrie, Alliston and Bradford reporting new COVID cases today

Five new cases of COVID-19 are being reported today at schools in Barrie, Alliston and Bradford West Gwillimbury.

Two new cases are being reported today at Steele Street Public School in east-end Barrie, with no new classrooms closed. This adds to a case already reported on Nov. 30 where one classroom was closed.

Bear Creek Secondary School in south-end Barrie is reporting one new active case, with no classrooms closed. There had previously been a case reported at the school on Sept. 21, and another on Nov. 9, however those cases have since recovered.

Banting Memorial High School in Alliston is reporting one new case with one more classroom closure. This adds to two cases reported on Nov. 30 where two classrooms were closed.

Bradford District High School is reporting a new COVID case at the school, with no new classrooms closed. This adds to two cases previously reported as part of an outbreak at the school, with one classroom closed.

The schools all remain open.

The school boards and the health unit have not reported whether the individuals are students or staff members.
