Collingwood Collegiate Institute students who had to stay home after someone in their class cohort tested positive for COVID-19 will return to the school on Monday.

Simcoe County District School Board updated its website this afternoon to indicate there are no active cases related to Collingwood Collegiate Institute students or staff.

"Based on the investigation conducted by the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, those instructed to self-isolate may return to CCI beginning on Monday," said Sarah Kekewich, manager of communications for the school board, in an email to CollingwoodToday.

CCI sent a letter to parents and guardians on Oct. 12 to inform them someone at the school tested positive for COVID-19. The school board posted the case to its website the next day and indicated a classroom was closed because of the case.

No other COVID cases have been reported in staff or students at CCI, and the first case was never identified as a staff or a student.
