NEWS RELEASE
HOSPICE GEORGIAN TRIANGLE
*************************
Hospice Georgian Triangle (HGT) is very closely monitoring the development of COVID-19 pandemic and following direction and guidance from Public Health authorities.

The health, safety and well-being of our patients, visitors, volunteers and staff at Campbell House and in the community are of the utmost importance to us. The Residential Program at Campbell House remains open with additional precautionary measures. We are restricting visitors to Campbell House – please only visit if essential. Do not visit if you are ill with cough or fever or have travelled outside of Canada in the last 14 days. Please do not bring children to visit.

All face-to-face Community Programs are on hold until further notice (i.e. bereavement visits, groups, home visiting volunteers etc.). Our Integrated Care coordinator and our Integrated Case worker are actively reaching out to our community clients and providing guidance and support. Our community volunteers continue to provide phone check-ins and support.

We have suspended the rest of our volunteer program for now and are encouraging our volunteers to stay home and take care of themselves. Additionally, most of our administrative staff at HGT and HGT Foundation are now working remotely. We are encouraging social distancing and if you are in the vulnerable population - older adults, individuals with chronic medical conditions or have a compromised immune system - consider asking others to retrieve essential items for you.

We cannot stress enough the importance to please practice hand hygiene, cough etiquette, stay home if ill, follow travel advisories and stay informed. Thank you for your ongoing dedication, understanding and cooperation during these turbulent times.
