The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has confirmed 96 new cases of COVID-19 in Simcoe Muskoka today.
Among the new cases reported today are three in Collingwood: a man between the ages of 35 and 44 (under investigation), a woman between 45 and 64 (community acquired) and a man between 65 and 79 (under investigation) are all part of today's update.
An outbreak at Sunset Manor in Collingwood has been declared over.
Two new cases are listed in Clearview Township: a 35-44 year old female and a 35-44 year old male are both listed with sources as close contact.
There are three new cases in Wasaga Beach: an 18 to 34 year old man with source listed as under investigation. An 18- to 34-year-old male and an 80+ year old female are listed as close contact.
Barrie is reporting 41 new COVID cases today. There are six youth cases between 0 and 17 (three males and three females), 13 cases between the ages of 18 and 34 (nine women and four men), five cases between the ages of 35 and 44 (three women and two men), 14 cases between the ages of 45 and 64 (eight women and six men) and three cases between the ages of 65 and 79 (two women and one man).
There are 10 new cases listed from Bradford West Gwillimbury today. One 18-34 year-old woman is listed, as well as two 18-34 year old men, one 35-44 year old man, one 45-64-year-old female, four 45-64 year old men and one 65-79 year old woman. The sources of six of the Bradford cases are listed as under investigation and three are community-acquired.
Four new cases in Essa Township are listed. The sources of transmission for an 18-34 year old man and a 35-44 year old female are both listed as under investigation, while the sources for a 35-44 year old male and 45-64 year old female are listed as close contact.
There are four new cases in Springwater Township. A 18-34 year old women is listed as close contact. A 35-44 year old male and a 45-64 year old male are listed as under investigation. A 45-64 year old male is listed as a community acquired case.
There is one community-acquired case in Bracebridge today, in a man between 45 and 64 years of age. The cause is listed as community-acquired.
A 45- to 64-year-old woman from Huntsville is listed with the transmission source reported as travel.
There are six new cases being reported in Innisfil. A woman between 18 and 34 is listed as community acquired. An 18-34 year old male, 35-44 year old female and 35-44 year old male have sources listed as still under investigation, while two 35-44 year old males are listed as close contacts.
Thirteen new cases have been reported in New Tecumseth today. Among them are four youths between 0 and 17 years old, three males and a female. Three males between 18 and 34 years old have transmission sources listed as under investigation. A woman between 35 and 44 is listed as under investigation. Between ages of 45 and 64, there are two females and two males listed. There is one case in an 80+ year old man, which is listed as community-acquired.
One man between the ages of 18 and 34 in Orillia is listed with the source as under investigation.
In Oro-Medonte Township, there are four new cases, all listed as close contact: two youths (a male and female) between 0 and 17, and two women, aged 18-34.
There is one new case in Tay, in a man aged 18-34 years old.
There is one new case today with the location pending, of a 45-64 year old male with the source listed as under investigation.
One case previously assigned to Barrie was removed as it was determined to not meet case definition and one case previously assigned to Springwater was removed as it was re-assigned to another public health unit.
Over the weekend, the health unit declared an outbreak over at Holland Gardens Retirement Residence in Bradford West Gwillimbury. Throughout the outbreak, which was originally declared on Nov. 13, one staff member came down with COVID-19. They have since recovered.
The Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit has reported a total of 2,115 cases of COVID-19, with 2,019 of those in Simcoe County. There are 1,786 cases listed as recovered in the region. Twelve people are currently hospitalized, all are Simcoe County residents. The health unit has confirmed 52 deaths since March.
The incidence rate for Simcoe County is 382 cases per 100,000 people.
