Later this week the region’s medical officer of health will be one of two doctors providing expert advice on how to reopen and operate businesses and workplaces safely during the pandemic.

Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit Medical Officer of Health Dr. Charles Gardner, and the vice president of the health unit’s environmental health department, Dr. Steve Rebellato, will be hosting an online webinar on June 18 geared toward workplace infection control and safety.

The doctors will provide information on how COVID-19 impacts operations, the requirements for re-opening and operating safely, and will answer questions from businesses and workplaces.

Gardner has previously noted workplaces are potential “hotspots” for the spread of COVID-19.

The health unit has also posted guidelines, resources, and advice for safe reopening of businesses and workplaces on its website here.

The webinar takes place at 3 p.m. on June 18.

Questions should be submitted in advance to [email protected]. Registration is also required in advance since the webinar will be in the form of a Zoom meeting. You can sign up online for the session here.

The webinar is free to attend and is presented in partnership with the health unit, County of Simcoe and District of Muskoka.
