COVID-19: Here's the situation in Collingwood today

There are no new cases of COVID-19 reported in Collingwood. The 15 cases confirmed in Collingwood residents are reported resolved with all of the individuals now past 14 days since the onset of symptoms.

There are also no new cases in Wasaga Beach or Clearview Township. In each municipality one person has died from the coronavirus and the remaining cases are reported as recovered.

In The Blue Mountains there have been five confirmed cases.

Public Health Ontario reported 323 new cases of COVID-19 in the province today, as well as 17 deaths and 370 new recoveries.

Collingwood’s top cop and the mayor expressed frustration at the number of people still going to Sunset Point Park, which is closed. In one instance, police had to tell a family that was attempting to camp overnight to leave the park. The OPP also reported an increase in gatherings at public parks during last weekend.

The Collingwood Agricultural Society has cancelled the Great Northern Exhibition fair for 2020.

Wasaga Beach announced it will be shutting down most of the municipal parking lots along the shore of the beach with the exception of two lots, which will be for residents only. Residents will be required to purchase a pass from town hall, and only people living in the municipality may purchase a pass.

Collingwood has reopened the skateboard park, which has been closed to the public since March.
