A Kingston man is facing charges for allegedly faking his own kidnapping.
Last Thursday, the man's parents received a text message demanding money for the release of their son.
Police tracked their 24-year-old son down, finding him alone in a hotel room.
He was taken into custody and charged with mischief.
He was released with a promise to appear in court.
