Say hello to Gigi, the Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) pet of the week.

Gigi is almost a year old, and she arrived at the GTHS Animal Centre after making a long trip from northern Ontario. Once she arrived, it was discovered she was pregnant. After having her puppies in foster care, she is ready to find a new home. She is described as a sweet dog. She loves to snuggle with people and play with toys.

She is a very active dog, so she will need a family who can provide her with exercise and mental stimulation. The GTHS team thinks she would do well in a home with another active dog as she has shown to be friendly with other dogs. She also does well on leash when out for walks. However, she needs to be reminded not to bite her leash.

There are some behaviours to be aware of. Gigi does sometimes display resource guarding of her food toward people and other dogs. The other behaviour is she likes to sometimes chew and shred blankets and stuffed animals. Her new family will need to keep an eye on these behaviours. Beyond that, she is a great dog.

Read all about her here: gths.ca/animals-for-adoption.
