ADOPT ME: Chicco is a playful dog in need of a home

Chicco came to GTHS from New Mexico in 2016

CollingwoodToday, in partnership with the Georgian Triangle Humane Society, brings you a regular feature highlighting a special pet that is in need of adoption.
Our pet of the week is Chicco.

This handsome seven-year-old dog is looking for a new family to love as he settles into his golden years.

He first arrived at the Georgian Triangle Humane Society (GTHS) from New Mexico in 2016 and he was then adopted. Unfortunately, some things changed at home and Chicco wasn’t able to get the care he needed, so he was brought back to the GTHS recently.

Chicco is a silly, playful dog for his age, and he loves to show off his personality. The GTHS team thinks he has a fair amount of chihuahua in him, so having a family familiar with chihuahuas would be ideal.

He can be a bit nervous, too, so having some patience with him would be great as he adjusts to new environments and people.

He is also in the Special Paws program due to some arthritis. He will need to stay on medication to keep him feeling like his wonderful self. He also needs to shed some weight, so he will need some help in slimming down. Finally, he is on a special hypoallergenic vet line diet.
